FC Akhmat Grozny is a professional football club based in Grozny, the capital city of the Chechen Republic, Russia. The club competes in the Russian Premier League, the top tier of Russian football. Established in 1958, it has undergone several name changes due to historical and political reasons, adopting its current name in honor of Akhmat Kadyrov, the former President of the Chechen Republic.
