The Tuscany club has a tradition dating back to 1920 and has changed its name several times throughout its history. From the original Empoli FBC it gradually became ASF Empoli, Dopolavoro Empolese to today's Empoli FC. The Azzurri, as the team playing its home games at Stadio Carlo Castellani (capacity of more than 16,000 spectators) is also nicknamed, even played in the UEFA Cup in 2007. However, the vast majority of their time was spent in Italy's third highest competition. They have been more successful in recent seasons, but they are still more of a provincial club in the Italian scale, on the border between Serie A and Serie B.
More about Empoli FCThe Italian football club US Cremonese has existed since 1903. In its long history it has run into major financial problems, but it has never declared bankruptcy, as many other teams from the Apennine Peninsula have done. For home games they use Stadio Giovanni Zini with a capacity of over 20,000 spectators.
