Olympiacos Piraeus, or Olympiakos Syndesmos Filathlon Peiraios, is a team from the port city of Piraeus. It is the most successful club in Greek history. And as it happens, the successful ones also have a lot of fans, which is also true here. According to various polls, this is the most popular football club in Greece. Their home stadium, the Karaiskakis Stadium, has a capacity of over 32,000 spectators.
More about Olympiacos PiraeusThe club, based in the Athens suburb of Nea Filadelfeia, is known to fans as Kitrinómavri ("yellow and black") or Dikéfalos Aetós ("two-headed eagles"). AEK Athens dates back to 1924 and plays at the Athens Olympic Stadium - capacity is 69,618 spectators. They are two-time winners of the 1997 and 1998 Cup Winners' Cup and are also the only Greek side to reach the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup, in the 1976/1977 season.
