This successful Italian club is known as I Rossoneri (the Red and Black) or Il Diavolo (the Devils). Accordingly, it can be deduced that their club colours are red and black, which can be found both on their jerseys and in their emblem. Their home stadium is San Siro, which they share with their Milan rival Inter Milan. It has a capacity of 80,081 people and is Italy's largest stadium.
The club also plays a derby with Inter Milan, which is known as the Derby della Madonnina. AC Milan has historically been a club mainly supported by the working class, while Inter Milan is mainly supported by the middle class. There is another rivalry with Juventus, which of course as the most successful league club is the main competitor. After the long-ago incident at the stadium that resulted in the death of a Genoa fan, there is also hatred from this side.
AC Milan is also linked to the activities of a radical group, the so-called ultras. This is Fossa dei Leoni, which is the oldest radical group in Italian football. However, the biggest radical group at the moment is Brigate Rossonere. Politically, these groups are traditionally sympathetic to the left-wing part of the spectrum.
The club was first founded as the Milan Cricket and Football Club in 1899 by a British immigrant. In 1908, the current Inter Milan was split off from it and the continuation of the original club is AC Milan, which has borne its current name since 2003.
In Serie A, AC Milan has 18 titles, the first in 1901 and the last in 2011. The club was also punished by being stripped of points in the 2006 season of corruption scandals that affected some of the teams. Moving on to cups, the club has won the Italian Cup 5 times, most recently in 2003. It has won the Italian Super Cup 7 times, most recently in 2016.
On the international stage, it has won the UEFA Cup and the current UEFA Champions League 7 times, most recently in 2007. He also has two Cup Winners' Cups and five UEFA Super Cup victories, the last in 2007. That year was also the last time he won the FIFA Club World Cup, where he has a total of four victories.
