The Italian football club is nicknamed Nerazzurri (black and blue) and their club colours are black and blue. The colours can be found in the crest as well as on the home jerseys, where the jersey itself is blue with black vertical stripes and the shorts are black. Outdoors, they play in a combination of yellow and blue. Their home stadium is the Arena Garibaldi with a capacity of 25,000 people. The club was founded in 1909 by college students and, as the name suggests, is based in Pisa, Tuscany.
The club made its first appearance in Serie A in the 1912/13 season. Its best finish in the top Italian league is from the 1920/21 season, when it finished second in the league table. It managed to stay in the top competition until the 1925/26 season. Later it showed up in Serie A briefly for the 1968/69 season. They celebrated success on European soil, winning the former Central European Cup (Mitropa Cup) twice, in 1986 and 1988. The club has also struggled financially throughout its history and now plays in Serie B.
