The nicknames of this German football club are Die Arminen or Die Blauen (the blues). The club colours are dark blue and black, with the dark blue being the jersey itself, which also contains black details, and then the shorts in black. Outdoors they play in jerseys with a predominance of red or white. White is an alternative third colour. At home they are at the Bielefelder Alm stadium with a capacity of 27,300 spectators. The club was founded in 1905, in the city of Bielefeld in North Rhine-Westphalia. It has then borne its current name since 1926.
After winning the 3rd German League overall in 2015, the club has been operating in the 2. Bundesliga, the second highest domestic competition, since the 2015/16 season.
