Austrian national football team represents the country at tournaments such as the FIFA World Cup and the UEFA European Championship. They have an interesting nickname, as they simply call themselves Team or Boys or the fans call them the already quite internationally widespread Our Boys. Their jerseys clearly express and stay true to the colours that are also found on the Austrian flag, which are white and red. The national team is managed by the Austrian Football Association.
Austria has qualified for seven FIFA World Cups, most recently in 1998. Interestingly, they missed out on bronze with Germany in 1934, but they had already won bronze at the 1954 World Cup in Switzerland. The country played in the UEFA European Championship for the first time in 2008, when it co-hosted the prestigious football event with Switzerland. Austria's last qualification for the European Championships so far came in 2016.
