The nickname of this Turkish football club is Karadeniz Atmacası. The club's colours are blue and green, which it has used since 1968, when it gained professional status. Previously, however, they used yellow instead of blue. The home jersey, which is mostly dark blue, also features vertical green stripes. The away jersey is in light blue. Alternatively, they also use white jerseys.
Since the 1990/91 season a tea leaf has appeared on the jerseys, as a reference to the club's main sponsor, which is a tea processing company. They are at home at Yeni Rize Şehir Stadı with a capacity of 15,485 people. The side hails from the city of Rize in northeastern Turkey, where it was founded in 1953.
The club first played its highest domestic competition, the Süper Lig, in the 1979/80 season. It has been in the top flight since 2013 and continues to play in the top flight to this day.
