The Scottish club Cowdenbeath FC was formed in 1881 as a merger of two local teams, Cowdenbeath Rangers and Cowdenbeath Thistle. They are commonly referred to as the Blue Brazil or the Miners. Which suggests they play in blue jerseys and come from a mining area.
This is a team that also has experience of the top football league, but they have not achieved great success there. The best is the fifth place from their first ever season among the elite in 1924. In the second league they could enjoy the title three times in 1913/914, 1914/1915 and 1938/1939. The last major achievement is the third league title from the 2011/2012 season.
