The Romanian football club FC Vaslui was founded relatively recently, having been founded only in 2002. And in just three seasons, it managed to reach the first league, where it ranked among the top teams. Their stadium, Stadionul Municipal, has a capacity of around 9,000 fans.
Although they never won the first league title, they managed to finish second once and third twice. They have also played at international level in five seasons. In the 2011/2012 season they reached the Europa League group stage. On the other occasions they played in the preliminary rounds, twice even in the Champions League. However, in 2014 the team ran into financial problems and practically went bankrupt. Of course, it didn't completely disappear, as its activity was renewed by the team's fans, but it meant a drop to the lower Romanian competitions.
