Czech national football team has participated in the World and European Championships. More successful is their participation in the continental championship, where they won silver in 1996 and bronze in 2004. The world championship did not bring advancement from the group, but back in the Czechoslovakia era the team placed second twice in 1934 and 1962. Czechoslovakia also won the European Championship in 1976.
Players such as Pavel Nedved, Patrik Berger, Karel Poborský, Tomáš Rosický, Vladimír Šmicer, Milan Baroš, Jan Koller and Petr Čech are among the biggest stars of the Czech national team in modern history. Of course, it is impossible to forget the stars from the era of the common state with Slovakia, when the team was driven by the performances of legends such as Josef Masopust, Antonín Panenka and others.
