The English football team Derby County FC is based in the non-metropolitan county of the similar name Derbyshire, where it began its activities in 1884. It is a team with a wealth of experience from the English First Division and even from the modern era when the Premier League is already played. However, their greatest achievements are of an earlier date and that was when they won the English First League in the 1971/1972 and 1974/1975 seasons.
Derby footballers also managed to triumph in the prestigious FA Cup, this happened in 1946. They won another valuable FA Charity Shield trophy in the 1976 season. Alongside this they managed to gain a number of other successes and quality results, certainly worth mentioning are several Second Division titles.
Of some interest is that Derby County FC is one of only ten teams to have participated in every edition of any of the competitions in the English league system. And mometnally they continue to do so at their home stadium Pride Park with a capacity of over 33,000 spectators.
