Ebbsfleet United is an English football club based in Northfleet, Kent, England. Founded in 1946 as Gravesend & Northfleet, the club changed its name to Ebbsfleet United in 2007. They currently compete in the National League South, the sixth tier of English football.
The team plays their home games at Stonebridge Road, which has been their base since their inception. The ground is known for its close-knit atmosphere, with a capacity that allows for several thousand fans to support the Fleet.
Ebbsfleet United's colors are traditionally red and white, and they are nicknamed "The Fleet." Although they have spent most of their history in the lower tiers of English football, they have had some success, including winning the FA Trophy at Wembley Stadium in 2008.
The club made headlines in 2008 when it became the first team to be owned by an online fan community, through the MyFootballClub website. This unique ownership structure allowed members to vote on player signings, transfers, and even match line-ups. Although this model has since ended, it remains a significant part of the club's history.
The team's fanbase, while modest, is known for being particularly passionate and loyal, supporting their club through thick and thin. Ebbsfleet United continues to strive for success on the pitch, aiming to climb the leagues and achieve greater recognition in English football.
