FC Bayern Munich

Germany's most successful club has nicknames such as FCB, Die Roten, Stern des Südens and FC Hollywood. The team colours are red and white, while the Bavarian flag motif also appears in the emblem. The club plays its home games in the Allianz Arena. It holds 75,000 people for league matches and 5,000 less for international matches. It is the second largest football stadium in Germany. It is a modern hall from 2005, and since then Bayern Munich have also played their matches here.

The club has a local rivalry with Bavarian clubs, namely TSV 1860 Munich and FC Nuremberg. In recent years, there has also been a rivalry with Borussia Dortmund, which is logical because as the second most successful club in the Bundesliga, they are Bayern's main rival in the quest for league triumphs.

The emergence of the sports club

Bayern was founded in 1900, by members of a gymnastics club. Like many other German clubs, Bayern is also a sports club that develops other activities besides football. These include gymnastics, basketball, table tennis, skittles, handball or chess. There was even formerly a section for ice hockey, but it ceased activity in 1969.

The club played its first ever match at Theresienwiese in 1901. Bayern has replaced several stadiums. From 1925, it shared the Grünwalder Stadion with rival TSV 1860 Munich, which owned it until World War II. Since 1972, in the Bundesliga era, the Olympiastadion has been Bayern's home. As the name suggests, it was the former Olympic Stadium that Munich built for the then Olympic Games. They played here until they moved to the current modern stadium, the Allianz Arena.

Germany's most successful club

As the most successful club in Germany's top competition, they have been league champions 29 times, with 28 of those titles coming from the current format, the Bundesliga, which they have played continuously since the 1965/66 season. Most recently, it won in seven consecutive seasons, from 2012/13 to 2018/19.

Furthermore, he has won 19 DFB-Pokal trophies, 7 times the DFL-Supercup and 6 times the DFL-Ligapokal. His achievements in European cups are also stunning, having won the UEFA Champions League 5 times, most recently in the 2012/13 season. He has one win each from the UEFA Europa League, Cup Winners' Cup and UEFA Super Cup. On the global stage, he has also won the Intercontinental Cup twice and has one win from the 2013 FIFA Club World Cup.
