The club is still called Synot, because until 2004 it was called FC Synot. Their club colours are white and blue. Their home jersey is all white, while their away jersey is all blue, with alternative colours being a combination of white jersey and blue shorts. Their home since 2003 has been the Miroslav Valenta Municipal Football Stadium with a capacity of 8,121 seats. The stadium has been named since 2009 after the recently deceased Miroslav Valenta, who was instrumental in building the club and the new stadium in recent years. The original club stadium was the small and no longer sufficient Širůch Stadium.
The founding of the original club dates back to 1927 in Staré Město in the Uherské Hradiště district of the Zlín region. From 1948 it was called Sokol Staré Město and then five years later Jiskra Staré Město. In 1993 it was renamed again, to SFK Staré Město, and a year later the company Synot became active in local football and the club was renamed FC Synot Staré Město.
From the 1980s the club played in the 3rd league, in 1997 it was promoted to the 2nd league. In 2000 the modern history of the club began to be written. The club was promoted to the 1st league and then it merged with FC Synot Slovácká Slavia Uherské Hradiště (where football was played since 1894) and FC Synot was formed. The two former rivals have continued together in the top football competition ever since.
In its first season in the top flight, the club was promoted to the Intertoto Cup, where it managed to reach the second round. During the 2003/04 season, Czech football was rocked by a corruption scandal and Synot, the club's main sponsor, left the club. Since then, the club has been called FC Slovácko, however, although it originally had ambitions to fight for the top ranks in the First League, it suffered financial problems as a result of the departure of its main sponsor and was relegated to the Second League in the 2006/07 season. After securing a new sponsor, the club returned to the top flight in the 2009/10 season. Since then it has finished at best in 6th place.
