Fulham FC

They are called The Cottagers, The Whites or The Lily Whites. Their club colours are just a combination of white and also black. From the name itself, it is clear that this is a club from the London Borough of Fulham. Since the 2019/20 season, they have been operating in the EFL Championship, the second highest competition, having suffered relegation from the Premier League in the previous season. They are at home at the 26,600-seater Craven Cottage Stadium. The club has played there since 1896.

Fulham is one of the participants in the West London derby, playing teams Chelsea, Brentford and Queens Park Rangers. Their main rival is undoubtedly Chelsea, despite the fact that they haven't played much together recently given Fulham's long absence from the top flight.

Emergence at St. Andrew's Church

Fulham is London's oldest club, having been founded back in 1879. Back then, it was under the somewhat cringeworthy name of Fulham St. Andrew's Church Sunday School FC. It was founded by the congregation of St. Andrew's Church, to which the name refers. A memorial document commemorating the formation of the club is still in the church today. Since 1887 it has been known by its present name.

Milestones and club achievements

Despite still reaching the FA Cup final in 1975, the club had a very long deaf period between 1968 and 1996. First, it was relegated from the top flight and then it even dropped down a competition. By 1996, they were barely holding on to the 4th division. But then better results came and after a very long absence, in 2001 the club returned to League One, now the Premier League. However, it has yet to win a title in the top flight during its time there.

After returning to the Premier League in 2001, it then also played three times in the European Cups. He even won the Intertoto Cup in 2002. In 2010, he has a notch on his arm in the form of winning the Europa League final, but losing to his rivals Atlético Madrid 1:2 in extra time.
