The Italian name is FC Internazionale Milano and their nicknames are I Nerazzurri (the Black and Blue), La Beneamata and Il Biscione. The club colours are therefore logically black and blue. Their home stadium is the San Siro with a capacity of 80,018 seats. It is thus one of the largest stadiums in Europe and the largest stadium in Italy. The club's rivals are AC Milan, with whom they play Derby della Madonnina. Another rivalry is with Juventus, with whom they play Derby d'Italia.
The origins of this famous and successful club from Milan date back to 1908. That's when it separated from the Milan cricket and football club, currently called AC Milan, with whom it shares the same stadium.
Inter Milan is the only Italian team to have played all editions of Serie A. It is also the second most successful club in the history of the competition. It has won a total of 18 league titles, the first in 1910 and the last so far in 2010. It has also scored points in domestic cups. It has won the Italian Cup 7 times, most recently in the 2010/11 edition. It has won five Italian Super Cups, with the most recent being in 2010.
Its name also sounds good on the international stage, having won the prestigious UEFA Cup and later the UEFA Champions League 3 times, in the 1963/64, 1964/65 and most recently in the 2009/10 seasons. Team also won the Cup, now the UEFA Europa League, 3 times, in the 1990/91, 1993/94 and 1997/98 seasons. And we are only talking about European competitions so far. It also triumphed 3 times at the Intercontinental Cup, later the FIFA Club World Cup, in 1960, 1998 and 2010.
The club's most successful period in general was the 1960s, referred to as the Grande Inter. Also worth mentioning is the 2009/10 season, when it won the so-called "treble". This is because it won both the domestic competition and the cup, as well as the Champions League. It was only the sixth club in history to do so.
