They call them Pandas, which is the nickname of this Belgian football club. The club colours are black and white. These are part of the home address, while away games are played in a combination of blue and white. Their home stadium is the Kehrweg Stadion, which has a capacity of 8,363 seats. The club was founded in 1945, and is based in the city of Eupen in the province of Liege in the Walloon Region, a German-speaking part of Belgium. The club was founded after the merger of Jugend Eupen and FC Eupen 1920. The original name of the club after the merger was AS Eupen. The current name of the club has only been used since 1995.
The club reached the highest level of Belgian football in the 2010/11 season. In 2012, it was bought by the government of Qatar through the Aspire Zone Foundation (Doha Sports City), which owns, for example, the prestigious French club Paris Saint-Germain. The club was bought by this organisation with the intention of using it as a springboard into European football for new footballers from Africa, South America and Asia.
