Nimes Olympique football team traces its existence back to 1937, when it was founded on the foundations of the local club SC Nimes, which was in financial difficulties. In addition to the French Ligue 1, the team also participated in lower competitions, where it achieved its best table positions. In this respect, the highest ranking is the title from the second league, but they achieved this in 1950.
Alongside this, they finished second in Ligue 2 in 2018, they have also won the third league title and have had several cup final appearances, including the Coupe de France. Most of these achievements are also several decades old. Since 1989, Nimes Olympique have been showing off their supporters at the Stade des Costières with a capacity of over 18,000 fans.
