Named Queen of the South FC, the football team from Dumfries, Scotland, has been around for a century, with its foundations laid in 1919. They play their home games at Palmerston Park Stadium, which has a capacity of just under 9,000 spectators.
Their best finish in League One was in the 1933/1934 season when they finished fourth, which was even their first ever season at the top level. However, since the 1960s they have been in the lower Scottish football competitions. Queen of the South FC players have also played in European cups, reaching the 2008/09 UEFA Cup thanks to a final appearance in the domestic cup, where they were knocked out in the second round.
