The nicknames of this Belgian football club are Les Carolos or Les Zèbres (the zebras). The latter nickname was earned primarily in reference to their black and white striped jerseys. You will find vertical stripes on them, and they use these jerseys for home matches. Outdoors, they then play in pink. At home they are at the Stade du Pays de Charleroi, which has a capacity of 25,000. The club was founded back in 1904, in the city of the same name, Charleroi.
The club's long-time local rivals include ROC de Charleroi-Marchienne, but they currently play in a different division. The club has now been playing at the highest level of Belgian football, known as First Division A, since the 2016/17 season, with no interruptions until the current 2019/20 season. They first reached the First Division in the 1947/48 season and their highest finish was 2nd place in the 1968/69 season. The club's achievements can also include their time on European soil, where they have participated in the UEFA Cup (now the UEFA Europa League) and have also won the Intertoto Cup three times.
