They are nicknamed The Ammies or The Lions. The image of a lion can be found in the club crest and the club colours, which are red and white, are also represented. These colours can also be found on the home jerseys. The away game is then played in a black and white colour combination. The home stadium is Moor Lane, which offers a capacity of 5,106 spectators. This English football club was founded in 1940, then as Salford Central. The home of the club is therefore in the city of Salford in the metropolitan county of Greater Manchester. The club has borne its current name since 1990, and has been renamed several times since then.
The club currently operates in the National League, which is the fifth highest competition in English football. Among the trophies, it has won the local Manchester Premier Cup twice, consecutively in the 1977/78 and 1978/79 seasons. In the FA Trophy, it finished in the 3rd round in the 2009/10, 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons. If we look at the bigger cup competitions, it reached the 2nd round in the English Cup in the 2015/16 season.
