South Korean national football team is one of the most successful Asian national teams. The World Cup usually ends in the group stage for them, but in 2002, for example, they made it to the medal fight and eventually finished fourth after losing to Turkey.
They have won the Asian Championships twice, but quite a long time ago, when it happened in 1956 and 1960. In the new millennium, they are picking up regular success in the East Asian Championships, which they have won so far in 2003, 2008, 2015, 2017 and 2019.
