It was founded in 1938 and the original name was Thrasybulus. This was the name of the ancient general who used the town of Fyli as a base for the liberation of Athens from Sparta.
The football club currently plays in the 3rd level of Greek professional football, called the Second Division. It is actually a farm for the second highest competition, Super League 2. In the past, specifically for the 2008/09 season, they even managed to reach the top competition, but due to inexperience they were immediately relegated.
