The nicknames of this Italian football club are Unione, Alabardati, Muli, Giuliani or Greghi. The club colours are red and white, which also appear on the jerseys. The jersey itself is red, while the shorts are white, which applies to home matches. For away games, the opposite is true. The club plays its home games at the Stadio Nereo Rocco, which has a capacity of 32,454 people. The club was founded in 1918, following the merger of two local teams. The home city is Trieste.
As of the 2018/19 season, the club plays in the 3rd Italian league, Serie C. Here it found itself more or less due to one of the last bankruptcies, which came in 2012. The bankruptcy occurred still during the 2015/16 season, but the club was bought by an Australian businessman. In the first decade of this millennium, it mostly played Serie B, Italy's second highest competition, and has gradually made its way back into it. In the past, however, it was much better off, playing even the top competition, Serie A, in 28 seasons. The first was in 1928/29 and the last in 1958/59.
