They are nicknamed The Mistermen and their club colours are red, blue and white. All of these colours can also be found in the club's crest, with the home team playing in red and blue jerseys and the away team playing in white jerseys. At home they are at Bootham Crescent Stadium, which has a capacity of 8,256 spectators. The origins of the English club date back to 1908 in the city of York in the metropolitan county of Yorkshire, when they started out as amateurs. In 1922 the club was re-formed and began playing in the Midland League, seven years before joining the Professional Football League.
The club currently operates in the National League North, a division of the National League. It is therefore up to the sixth tier in the English league system. They have won the FA Trophy a total of 2 times, in the 2011/12 and 2016/17 seasons. However, it is also certainly worth mentioning that they reached the semi-finals of the English Cup in the 1954/55 season. Then in the 1961/62 season they were also in the quarter-finals of the League Cup.
