Rangers FC

The traditional Glasgow club has been nicknamed in several ways, namely The Gers, The Light Blues and The Teddy Bears. The club's traditional rivals are Celtic, a rivalry with religious and political overtones. Celtic are historically associated with the Irish and Scots of Irish descent, who are predominantly Catholic. Rangers, on the other hand, are recruited from Scottish or Northern Irish Protestants linked to the political strand of British Unionism. Hence the animosity between supporters of both clubs. The colours of Rangers are royal blue, white and red.
