The Spanish team Real Club Deportivo Mallorca, from the port city of Palma, has been playing football since 1916. Interestingly, it is the oldest football team in the Balearic Islands. In its more than a century of existence, it has also won a number of successes, the biggest being the 2003 Copa del Rey and before that the 1998 Spanish Super Cup triumph.

It was founded in 1920 and has alternated between the first and second leagues for most of its existence, having last been in the third league in the 1970s. They play their home games at the Estadio El Sadar with a capacity in excess of 18,000 spectators.
