KV Kortrijk

KV Kortrijk football team is one of Belgium's smaller clubs with a history dating back to 1901. Over the years, they have occasionally played in the first league, but have not achieved significant success there. Their most valuable trophies come from the second league, which they won shortly after their foundation in the 1905/1906 season and a second time more than a century later in the 2007/2008 season. The club was founded in 1945, and is based in the city of Eupen in the province of Liege in the Walloon Region, a German-speaking part of Belgium. The club was founded after the merger of Jugend Eupen and FC Eupen 1920. The original name of the club after the merger was AS Eupen. The current name of the club has only been used since 1995.
